Dear All, The Haifa Linux club (Haifux) is a place for Linux supporters, users, developers, and other types of mammals, to meet and discuss Linux. Currently most of our meetings have the following structure: Lecture Break+Discussions Lecture Continues
The idea of some actions "the club" holds are to bring new people to use Linux, and introduce them to the Linux world. However, "the club" is an acronym for: "a group of people who are related to Haifux is some obscure way". I once was asked when the management of the club was meeting. I admit I never knew we had one, but besides that, any Linux related activity you like to hold -- you can. The "club" will offer some web space for announcement, mailing lists, etc. BUT Nothing else. Whenever "the club" is doing something, it is actually a group of people from within the club (another problematic concept, who is considered an Haifux member?) who do something for the Linux/Open Source movement. If "the club" wishes to have SiL -- be my guest. If "the club" wishes to have Programming in Perl -- be my guest. If "the club" wishes to have Salsa dancing in the Linux environment while typing Python code on the keyboard strapped to the head of a Tux -- BE MY GUEST (and please be careful about the dancing part). As long it has some vague connection to Linux (where the only problem is that I define vague) "the club" will allow the advertisement in the website, mailing list, etc. And if someone wishes to have 45 lectures regarding setting up X on SPARC, and (s)he has no problem with only one listener -- feel free to create such a lecture set. Now, please do me a favor -- keep all flames to other distinguished mailing lists: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] and much much more.
