Hacking old scientific codes: improving, porting to Linux, replacing algorithms with modern ones. Designing the architecture for new scientific codes. Designing and implementing a general purpose scientific GUI. Working alongside scientists, helping them implement the scientific equations while not neglecting quality, portability, readability, modularity, maintainability, efficiency - all those things True Physicists (TM) tend to neglect. Introducing new technologies and free software solutions into the team. Advising sysadmins on tough problems. The position is in the Haifa area. Please contact me personally for further details.
