I have seen something like that a few weeks ago as well, but I've reverted to openssl stable, as I did not have time to get involved with troubleshooting openssl master at this point. That having said you may want to retry with latest 1.1.1-pre5, it may have been already fixed (Prevent a possible recursion in ERR_get_state ...). Lukas
