Also, could you try with make_tgz.sh to see if the sed/gzip
problem is present on your system, too?
make_tgz.sh creates a harbour-1.0.0-darwin_9.4.0.inst.sh but if I try
to install it it gives gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file.

I'll remove this self extracting script.
If it creates problem on darwin then the same can happen also on
some other platforms. Looks that MacOSX sed always add EOL to
preprocessed data. When I will have access to MacOSX I'll check
deeper.
