Hi Sudip
Please see this as no offense intended. But...
Have you realized this is a "Developers" list ?
This is not a training nor users not learning list.
Its designed for Harbour developpers to exchanges goals, roadmaps and to
report possible compiler and contribs errors.
If we start contaminating this list this request for support then
developpers will find a more "private" media to communicate among them
and we will be out of even reading such enlightening discussions.
Also I want to say there`s no active mailing list o newsgroup for
harbour users that I know of, and that's a serious handicap.
Development is done with success but evangelism is null, so the world is
missing a wonderfull tool.
Regards
Angel Pais

Hello Xavi,
Thanks a lot for your mail.
I was waiting for your mail :)
Learn SQL! MySQL and PostgreSQL are servers of SQL and this means that .-
SQL it's used for abstracted physical data from the application using it.
You send text SQL commands to server and receives, if no error, affected
rows or a 2-dimensional array >of data result.
I have some experiences with RDBMS and SQL. I learned Oracle and SyBase in
Unix platform more than 15 years ago. But never used them professionally ;(
Later also worked with both Sql Server and MySql with VFP with odbc. But,
unsatisfied with VFP (although IMHO, it's one of the best RAD tools by MS,
but not marketed well). I also have little experiences with
MySql+PHP+Apache.
Now, I am "learning" MySql with HMG with help of S. Rathinagiri. I already
wrote and shared some utilities with HMG and Minigui Extended. My choice is
TMySql class, as IMHO, I get the full power of MySql. And AFIK, TPGSql is
similar to TMySql (as seen from Harbour Contribution Examples).
But, I never used PostgreSql.
Please note that I am still a "learner" of this vast subject. I told you
about my very little experiences, so that you will be comfortable with me
discussing about terms and common technologies of RDBMS. :)
IMHO, Harbor is very good to worker with texts and arrays.
Also objects class and RDD can help to work with texts and arrays and there
are contributions of this.
But the most important thing is, if your force the way to work in DBF to
this servers is like do races >between cars and jets but forbidden flying.
:'( Maybe it's good and easy to come back origin and >working with texts and
arrays.
Agreed and so I use tMySql instead of RDD :)
Thanks but is indifferent to me, is more important what Pritpal want?,
IMHO.
Yes, my friend. I also want this and wish him a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY :)
I was interested to know about PostgreSql (as you mentioned in your last
mail). Now, I got some information about it from Postgresql.org.
Thank you again.
With best regards.
Sudip
