Hector, honesty is indeed the best Policy !!
On the subject of QS's . I have a question, and I am afraid of the answer ,
but it seems to me awhile back there was something about a person having to
use their IRC's before a certain date as they would expire after that ?
I have tons of QSL's from the last several years with face value of @ $ 1.75
.
I usually send 2 to a station at least , and for the last decade a crisp US
$ 1 dollar bill .
As a matter of fact I have been for last 3 years included rather than a $ 1
a $ 2 dollar bill.
So, the question from me, are the older IRC coupons still alright to use ?
To me I can't imagine why they are not to be used anymore ?
Meanwhile I sit and wait for my QSL from ST HELENA last
November.........Laura Lawrence if you're out there ( she works at R. ST
HELENA ) PLEASE send me the QSL as I know for certain I did hear the station
last year .
Ciao ,

Consequences:? I was on the mailing list of R. Havana for years.? They had my

remember quite fondly getting called into my division officer's stateroom to
explain this mail that was coming.? Fortunately, he was a ham.? But, we had to

The voice of America used to have an archive of that stuff and also Radio Free
Europe. I would also try the history and / or the communications(R/T/F)
departments of universities like Syracuse(NY) or maybe Temple(PA). Last there
is?the Radio and TV museum in NY city which has an extensive archive on all
sorts of mediums like cylinders, transcription discs, all the way up through
CDs. They were in the process of putting all of it into electronic form but I
don't know the status of that project. I may have some printed materials
available. I was a young (and nieve) swl back in 1980 when I heard Radio Moscow
on 7.310mhz on my old BC348. I wrote a reception report and mailed it, not
realising the consequences, even then, of sending mail to a communist nation.
At that time the Russian military was in Afganistan and President Carter had
made the decision to pull our athletes out of the olympic games. The response I
got from Moscow contained program schedules and a lot of propagand!
a related to the olympics. I may still have those items but I will have to
look when I get back from my vacation next week. Hope this helps.? CRAIG?
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
Wish I had some of those.? Who'd have thought they'd go down like they did.?
Kinda miss being called?a "capitalist pig"...? Oh well, there's always plenty
of folks who'll call me an "infidel crusader" ...

I'm looking for vintage recordings of Radio Moscow in English for use
in a radio documentary. Any programming would be acceptable, but I'm
particularly looking for propaganda. I'd appreciate any leads or the
use of recordings from a dx'ers collection. There is a commercially
released lp of Radio Moscow recordings on Cook records from 1961, but
I'm running into licensing issues in order to use anything from it.

Saludos cordiales.
LIBIA.

Yes I remember when all of my mail was opened up before I got it for
about 6 months. My mom was applying for a job with Nasa & I was
listening to shortwave stations all over the world (including Radio
Moscow) back in the 1970's & 80's. Have never been in the military
but I did send out a lot of signal reports.

Haven`t logged much in the past week due to generally poor conditions, etc.
** ALBANIA. At 2002 July 25 I checked 13720 and R. Tirana had a good signal,
but modulation was way too low with hum making it hard to listen to (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CANADA [and non]. No one has given us any monitoring info yet on when WHRI
is axually signing on 7335, tho it remains on their website sked at 0600-1100.
July 31 I woke up just before 0800 and found CHU in the clear a minute before
and after that hour. But August 2 at 1046 check, WHRI was on 7335 and CHU not
even audible under (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CHAD. Correlating with Carlos Gon?alves` log of this in the evening, the
extremely distorted, extremely off-frequency 6165 transmitter of RNT heard on
about 7262v, same characteristics as previously when identified on 7310v,
7290v, warbling variable beat against a weak signal on 7260, which at 0548 Aug
2 would be Algeria via UK. This must be a big problem back in the NAf target
area, but who cares? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. Re previous report of RHC on 13750 instead of 13680, July 25 blocking
Tirana at 1300-1330: Next day, RHC was back on 13680, and since whenever
checked (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. No luck hearing XEXQ, 6045 again, as reported to be reactivated. But
it`s always a challenge with 250 watts. July 31 [not July 30 as I misspoke on
WOR 1369] around 0530 could not detect it, but at 1240 there was a fairly good
carrier peaking at S9+10 which I at first overlooked; barely audible modulation
which may not even have been from XEXQ (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Peru, 4857.71, Radio La Hora, 0001-0015 Not much heard during the period,
just a male and female in Spanish comments. Signal was seesawing between the
noise and brief moments of readablity. (Chuck Bolland, August 2, 2007)
