** CYPRUS [non]. 9955, Wed Dec 13 at 1356, Slovakia in Spanish via WRMI with considerable Cuban pulse jamming, but by 1400 it has abated, but not off, as `FG Radio` is starting its long-awaited new episode; the entire program, without any Beatles breaks, is a phone interview with author Gary Powers, Jr., ``Letters from a Soviet Prison``, his multi-year project to acquire and publish writings of his father, the U2 pilot who was shot down and imprisoned for a couple of years before being exchanged at the bridge in Potsdam for a Soviet spy. He kept a journal while in custody, and was able to communicate with family (not explained why this was allowed).
Very interesting; have not seen or heard him yet on the American book-tour circuit. Maybe why: the book is a private printing of only 500, which can be ordered direct from him while available, $25 plus postage from Gary Powers, Jr., P O Box 1356, Midlothian VA 23113, or [email protected]. Next year it will be published commercially and available from the usual sources. The host is presumably Nathan Morley, but modestly never names himself on the air. Further scheduled broadcasts of FG Radio on WRMI, presumably more new episodes from next week, starting Tue?: Wed 2100 15770 > meaning 9455 [if reactivated] Thu 0245 9955 Thu 2245 9955 Fri 0515 9955 Fri 1015 5850 > meaning also 9455 [if reactivated] Tue 1445 9955 Wed 0515 9955 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1908 monitoring: confirmed the Wed Dec 13 at 1030 broadcast at wake-up 1054 check, VG S9+20 --- but // 9455 is OFF, no signal, while 9395 & 9955 are S9-S8. Also confirmed Wednesday December 13 at 1415.5 on WRMI 9955, fair-good with lite pulse jamming; tnx a lot, Arnie! Still scratchy at 1427. 12065, Dec 13 at 1418, WEWN English in Teresa`s RCC talkshow, S9+30 with squeals, and spurblob peaks approx. plus and minus 9 kHz, and double that weaker at 18 kHz --- just like we would hear whenever 15610 arrived with a very strong fundamental signal. I.e., circa 12047, 12056, 12074, 12083. The spur field range is detectable out to plus/minus 25 kHz, 12040-12090, bad news for innocent bystations (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 17775.150, Dec 13 at 1526, KVOH playing `Feliz Navidad` tune, José? Distorted and considerably off-frequency. Splatter field only 17765-17785, not further into the 18068+ hamband at the moment, altho fundamental is quite strong. (BTW, I have remeasured and refined the correxion factors on the R75 for precise frequency measurements to the Hz. Probably accurate to within 2 Hz) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 5085, Dec 13 at 0705, WTWW-2 is still on with S9+20 of dead air. Wonder when the music stopped?
