The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
As promised, tonight is Chris' big return to the show...For all of you who have been
sending e-mails about his condition, I urge you to tune it...All of your questions
will be answered...We'll lead with Chris' better looking half, wife Kathleen
(http://www.wjla.com/news/talent.hrb?i=18) and his doctor to discuss his odyssey with
malaria...
In the B block we'll do Dominick Dunne on the spate of kidnappings, missing persons
and child murders this summer...
In the back half, we turn up the heat and kick it off with a Shuster package examining
President Bush's last 3 weeks...Has it been good politically for him? Has it been
good politically for you?? Why the last 3 weeks? That's how long Chris has been out
and he's anxious to weigh in what's been going on...I actually suggested that
Shuster's stand up be: "So the question is, how has the Bush administration performed
in Chris' absence?" I'm not holding my breath that he'll use the suggestion...Anywho,
NY Gov. George Pataki will take on that question solo in the D block..
The word right now is that we'll forego the "Real Deal" segment in favor of a more
robust Political Buzz...Shrum and Blankley (possibly a third party tbd) will be here
to continue the discussion...I'm sure Shrum will want to take issue with
Pataki...Plus, DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe came out swinging over the weekend,
slamming Bush for using 9/11 for political gain...Could this be a rhetorical tactic in
'04? The NY Times reports that Bill Clinton reviewed the speech prior to its
delivery...We're going through the tape now, looking for the hot sots!
Today's Briefing is actually chock full of Buzzable topics...Got some great stuff on
Hillary, Bush's fundraising prowess and this little gem:
