            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Clearly the Big Story today comes to us from Bush's economic summit in Waco, TX....A
lot of slicing and dicing of that one in the press today...We'll bring that to the
metaphorical table tonight in the front half of the show...We've got a line out to a
number of heavyweights including Reich, Cramer, Forbes and another "big name" I can't
mention because the deal hasn't been closed...Plus, I got a call out to Carney who I
suspect may be in Texas but not sure....

In the back half, we'll switch gears to that troubling van Dam case...Should
Danielle's parent's private life be relevant to the case?...Apparently they were fond
of "swinging" and hittin' the grass...Meet the parents: The defense goes after the van
Dams (Court TV) http://www.courttv.com/trials/westerfield/060902_ctv.html

We'll get into that with defense attorney Joe Tacopina who thinks the private life
"issue" is valid...Fmr. prosecutor Laura Spence does not...You make the call tonight
in our D block...

In the Buzz, we've got radio talk show host Laura Ingraham and Chicago Tribune
columnist Clarence Page on the new Iraq polls, Bush's economic summit, and I'll have
some McAuliffe stuff on standby but no guarantees on it...

The Mortman/Jensen dynamic duo have a number of fascinating and engaging topics for
the "Real Deal" including, but not limited to G. Gordon Liddy campaigning for Bob Barr
and O'Neil disses McAuliffe on TV this morning...These subjects are subject to change
without notice...

Must Read: From a man who has given so much to you, our fans...Hardball colleague and
friend Court Harson recently took a sojourn through the American Southwest and reports
on his trip to New Mexico...A wonderfully descriptive journey he takes us on, I
particularly appreciated his mouth-watering descriptions of the food...But then again,
I'm Italian...New Mexico holds on to heritage...Spanish, Native American cultures
blend in the enchanting southwest http://www.msnbc.com/news/769962.asp
