"Five people going about the prosaic chores of daily life were indiscriminately shot
dead in a 17-hour span in Montgomery County yesterday and Wednesday." Thus began the
lead story in my morning paper...For those who don't know, Montgomery County is a
suburb of Washington, DC and a hop, skip and a jump from where I live...Now it appears
a 6th man was shot last night in DC...Police are investigating for a possible
connection...Not very comforting to say the least...

We'll get into and a couple of other cases (Milwaukee mob beating and Pennsylvania mom
convicted of manslaughter for allowing underage kids to drink in her pad...Three of
the teens died in a car crash afterward) with fmr. FBI profiler Clint Van Zandt, fmr.
Philly police Commish John Timoney, defense guy Joe Tacopina & fmr. prosecutor Wendy
Murphy...That'll be the first half...

Kicking off the back half we've got the Rev. Jerry Falwell...Dig these quotes...

Jerry Falwell calls Islam's prophet a `terrorist' in television interview..."Jesus set
the example for love, as did Moses," Falwell says. "I think Muhammad set an opposite
example." (AP)

George Will: About two hours after Sen. Robert Torricelli's weepy press conference, in
which he -- a liberal, hence nimble at victim-mongering -- proclaimed himself a victim
of America's defect ("When did we become such an unforgiving people?"), the presses of
the Democratic Party's newsletter, The New York Times, were printing an editorial
exercise in situational ethics.
