Tonight's a big night folks...This is one of those times when you gotta break out the
TV trays, call the delivery dude and gather the family...It all happens at 7 pm et
exclusively on MSNBC...A night us cable news junkies live for...We'll debut our newest
show "Countdown: Iraq"...Hosted by Lester Holt, it will be the day's most
comprehensive look at the showdown with Saddam...A one stop shop for the latest news,
events, sound and analysis on the coming confrontation...
At 8 pm et, Bush will give his much anticipated speech on Iraq live from Cincinnati,
OH...(Excerpts will be released at 5pm et. full text about 20 minutes before. running
length 20-25 minutes)...After that Matthews will commandeer coverage until 10
pm...We'll bring out the big guns for fast paced, slice and dice reax...First, a "whip
around" from top NBC reporters covering the White House, Pentagon and State
Department...Then, we'll do a hit with CA Senator Dianne Feinstein and a GOPer
tbd....Plus, New York Rep. Charlie Rangel we'll give us his reax...Theoretically this
will take us till 9 pm...
At 9 pm et, we'll play highlights from speech and go round the horn with our "gravitas
maximus" panel: Doris, Gergen & Howard...We may even throw in an elected or two...
And you may have heard of the latest shooting outside of DC...This time a 13 year old
boy was shot as he was going to school this morning in Prince George's County
Maryland...The boy is currently in critical condition and underwent surgery this
morning...While not certain yet, it appears this may be connected to the string of
shootings last week...Hardball correspondent David Shuster is on his way to the scene
of the crime and will give us a live update...We'll then talk to Clint van Zandt and
Bo Dietl about the case and where it's heading...
The Buzz is still a bit up in the air...Just talk to Caddell and he's hosting a book
party so he can't make it...Whoever we get though, we'll go through the latest NYT
poll on the economy and Iraq...Plus, we're efforting some sound from John Edward's
"arrogance without purpose" speech he's set to deliver today slamming Bush...
Also, in the Real Deal, we'll show you some of those hot Iraq ads playing in key
senate races across the country...

New shooting tied to earlier ones?...A 13-year-old boy was critically wounded Monday
in a shooting outside a school in Bowie, Md. There was no immediate word on whether
the shooting was related to the sniper shootings last week that left six people dead.
