The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Sorry folks about yesterday but the MSNBC server was down yesterday which is why I
didn't get a Briefing out...We're about to head into the studio to do some pre-pro
(pre-production) stuff so really have to make this short and sweet...
It's been freezing all across America so tonight Hardball will turn up the heat to
warm you up! Dornan, Bauer, Mezvinsky (yes, MMM is back!) and Fund duke it out for
the front half of the show on the latest poll numbers, specifically, what does Bush
have to say on Iraq to convince the American that the time for acting is now? Does he
need an Adlai Stevenson at the UN moment? (you old timers know what I'm talking about)
Plus, his handling of the economy numbers are dropping too...What will he say to
restore confidence?
We preview Tuesday's State of the Union Address
And my favorite little spat du jour...Howard Dean rips John Kerry over his criticism
of Bush "rushing to war"....Dean charges hypocrisy for Kerry trying to have it both
ways: Ripping Bush while voting for Iraq war resolution....I've got the sot and full

In the D block, we'll do crime and punishment: the latest on the Laci Peterson case
and the one with that woman who ran down her cheatin' hubby in Houston....Tacopina,
Crier & Abrams will join us to kick it...
In the E/F block we'll do Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman on those controversial Vegas promo
ads which the NFL is refusing to run during the Super Bowl...
Great show, set the VCR, do what you must but pls watch...

Time offers retraction of story...The article "Look Away, Dixieland" [Jan. 27] stated
that President George W. Bush "quietly reinstated" a tradition of having the White
House deliver a floral wreath to the Confederate Memorial at Arlington National
