Shuster's Corner

"Your Hardball ad watch team has thrown it into 5th gear to keep up with both
presidential campaigns. The Kerry campaign announced it will spend 50 million on
battleground state tv ads between now and the election. The Bush campaign will spend
8 million dollars on battleground state ads just over the next week. Tonight, we will
show you some of the latest ads and explain what's accurate and what's not. As you
may know, the end of the incumbent party's convention marks the beginning of the final
and most important phase of this election. Every ad buy could be crucial... and money
spent in one state may leave less money to spend in another. By the way... thanks
to all of you who kept up with our convention coverage on the air and through
hardblog. Your e-mails about both are always appreciated... and it's been fun
hearing from so many of you."

We'll wrap up tonight with a package of the sights, sounds and if you concentrate hard
enough, the smells of the week that was in New York!

My buddy Robert Cox is guest blogging for us today over at Hardblogger, dig it

James Wolcott..We'll also talk to Chris' old boss from his Carter days, Rick
Hertzberg, a New Yorker Magazine writer. Don't forget! Until Tuesday have a great
holiday weekend and as always, keep it real.
