Hardball airs tonight on MSNBC at 7p, 11p & 4a ET & 4p, 8p & 1a PT Find MSNBC
on your TV http://www.msnbc.com/CableOperator.asp MSNBC also is on your XM
satellite radio on channel 130
Judging by the guest lineup it appears we're going heavy on a foreign policy
tip...However we start with the likes of David Ignatius (The Washington Post)
and Jon Meacham of Newsweek, a man you've come to know well over the last
several months of our election coverage...A man of immense gravitas and
intellect, Meacham authored one of the Chris' favorite books, "Franklin and
Winston." No doubt we'll lead with the imminent announcement of White House
Counsel Alberto Gonzales as next Attorney General.

The gentlemen will also tackle the issue of morality in politics, the much
buzzed about "values" voters and what ideological tack Bush will take in his
next term...
Palestinian Legislative Council member Hanan Ashwari taped an interview with
Chris earlier today where she got into the Arafat's health, a future without
him and what role Yasser's wife Suha is playing in all of this...
We'll also talk to Dennis Ross, a former U.S. envoy to the Middle East on the
geopolitical implications of Arafat's death...This cat knows his stuff
And what might an Arafat funeral look like? Shuster reports...I've peaked at
his script and he has some important biographical info on Yasser you may want
to know about...
We round out the hour with New Mexico Republican Senator Pete Domenici on why
we this country needs to go "nuclear" in terms of our energy policy...
>From the Briefing Party File...
I don't get out these days much since my marriage but my boss Tammy Haddad did
manage to drag myself and another producer Connie to a fete last night of
Tucker Carlson and his show "Unfiltered" (http://www.pbs.org/tuckercarlson/) at
Morton's on Connecticut (Formerly Duke Ziebert's for you old schoolers)
Notable faces in the crowd: Tucker of course, longtime Matthews aide Barbara
Daniel (she was down with Chris before being down with Chris was cool), Meet
the Press EP Betsy Fischer, CNN Washington uber-exec Sam Feist, fmr. Ashcroft
aide Barbara Comstock, Reliable Source Postie Anne Schroder (natch), and Paul
Begala...Scrumptious finger food included mini steak sandwiches (the same ones
Morton's served the press when we were staked out at the Montogomery Co.
Sheriff's office during the sniper drama) and crostini topped with sauted
mushrooms and cheese..Cosmos and Appletinis were served in nifty martini
glasses with the "Unfiltered" logo...The coolest part was everyone got to keep
the Martinis glasses!
