When you think of filibusters what do you think of? Do you even know the
history of the filibuster? Tonight we clear things up with an outstanding
David Shuster package on everything you needed to know but were afraid to ask
about this silly named item...Immediately following that setup C. Boyden Gray
of Bush 41's White House goes at it with liberal Mark Green from New York
(President of the New Democracy Project) on whether this is a wise thing for
the Senate to do...
Afterwards we take you to the college campus of Princeton where students are
engaging in their own filibuster protest...Here's the deal, a group of students
have been at the Frist Center Campus at Princeton University (his family
donated the money to build it as Frist is an alumnus himself) since last
Tuesday filibustering to protect the filibuster....And you thought all they did
was go to keg parties and listen to the Dead?? We'll talk to a couple of the
students and ask what the dealio is...These are the type of guys who'll be
running the New Republic magazine in a few years...
Later we debate new allegations of bullying against John Bolton with David
Bossie (one of the founding members of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy) and head
of Citizens United...Bossie's a legend in right wing circles...He was
investigating Clinton before investigating Clinton was cool...Howard Dean's
brother, Jim, who took over Democracy for America will play opposite...Bossie
has a new ad pushing Bolton's nomination so we'll roll that little sugar plum
for you..
We finish up with a couple of strategists: Ed Rogers from the GOP and Steve
McMahon from the Dems...We'll do the whole "Real ID Act" which will soon pass
in Congress saying essentially in order to get a drivers license you have to
show proof of legal residence or citizenship...Sounds reasonable huh? Many
oppose it, we'll show you why....We'll also get into the Social Security fight
with those guys!
Please join us...Dominic Bellone wrote, compiled and edited The Hardball

To start, Bloody Marys for A listers...Saturday began for many of us at what's
become an annual tradition and one we wouldn't miss - a tented brunch at MSNBC
producer Tammy Haddad and Ted Greenberg's Northwest D.C. home for the "A list."
"Hardball" will celebrate its eighth anniversary next month, so Haddad was
prepared with a camera crew to shoot footage of talker Chris Matthews wearing a
"Mission Inn" Clint Eastwood baseball cap (apologies to Nationals fans) and
actually acting camera shy. ... Soon-to-be launched Capitol File publisher
Jason Binn was shooting his own photos when he wasn't yakking with Matthews or
upcoming blogger Arianna Huffington.
