            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

It's Iraq, Iraq, Iraq tonight as Rummy was in the hot seat today and it's
definitely getting hot folks...He and our top military brass were on the Hill
testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee...Byrd was on fire (if
you can believe it at his age!) dressing down Rummy the hardest...Kennedy asked
him if he should resign as Republican Jim Inhofe chided the "cut and run
caucus"...Abizaid, our top commander in Iraq disagreed with VP Cheney that the
insurgency was in its last "throes."

We'll slice and dice the hearings with Norah, John Dickerson (newly minted
chief political correspondent for Slate) and Dan Klaidman, Washington bureau
chief for Newsweek magazine...And dig this little sugar plum: Karl Rove created
a firestorm last night when he blasted liberals over 9/11, causing Dems, in
full moral outrage mode, to call for his apology or resignation...We'll show
you the tape to prove it!

But we begin tonight with another huge "get": Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim
al-Jaafari sat down with David Gregory, our guest host, at Blair House for an
in depth one-on-one interview...

And it doesn't stop there...We bring in legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw,
who despite retiring, is still hard at work on our network's behalf...He's got
a new report on terrorism and U.S. efforts to combat it...

And if life wasn't bad enough...Now the the Supreme Court says it's OK for your
city to take your home! Justice John Paul Stevens led the charge along with
Justices David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Anthony Kennedy and Stephen
Breyer... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8331097/

We won't touch that one just yet but perhaps tomorrow...
