            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

It's been a long day, sorry I'm late and light on links but here you
are...Tonight in a television news exclusive we get reaction to President
Bush's speech last night with DNC Chairman Howard Dean....We'll get his
thoughts on that as well as his party's response, why Dem senators will blast
the war but none dare call it a mistake and what he makes of the shot Karl Rove
took at him last week...For his part, Dean called the war a "blunder."

Later in the show we talk to two important and influential journalists, Tony
Blankley of The Washington Times and Margaret Carlson of Time magazine who'll
slice and dice the politics of our Dean interview and the Bush speech...Plus,
the latest in the Matt Cooper (Time Mag)/Judy Miller (New York Times) court
case rejected by the Supremes...The two now face jail time for refusing to give
up a source in the Bush administration who have leaked the name of former
Ambassador Joe Wilson's wife, a covert CIA operative, in order to intimidate
Wilson, at least thats the claim...

We wrap things up with Richard Nixon's son-in-law Edward Cox who filed
exploratory papers today for a possible run against Hillary in '06...He takes
his best shot against her tonight...

I'd seriously suggest you tune in...Tomorrow historian David McCullough joins
us...Can we take the gravitas??
