            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Another rushed effort today as we've had a very busy week here at Hardball
booking guests, producing segments and generally traversing the rocky editorial
topography that is Washington...

Tonight we go outside the Beltway for the first part of the show with Governors
Ed Rendell (D-PA) & Mike Huckabee (R-AR)...We'll hit a range of issues to
include Iraq and its impact on the national guard, cultural issues including
abortion, "Intelligent Design" the fight over John Roberts, general politics
and some of the fun things happening in their states...

We'll then bring on a couple of young political activists who'll give their
take on the world and where they are on Iraq and serving over there...It's a
fun one trust me...Chris Galloway is the president of the Young Democrats of
America and Jason Mattera is the spokesman for the Young America's Foundation,
liberal and conservative respectively...

We'll also do the controversy over a proposal to allow military service
personnel to serve a portion of their enlistment obligation in the Peace
Corps...Peace Corps veterans are none too happy about the proposal as they see
that blurring this line might cause Peace Corps host countries to question the
motives of the volunteers...We'll do the debate tonight..

Peace Corps Option for Military Recruits Sparks Concerns (The Washington Post)

Finally we'll slice and dice Bob Novak's walk-off incident on the set of Inside
Politics yesterday with journalism professor Deborah Mathis, TV Guide's Stephen
Battaglio and The Chicago Trib's Jim Warren...Was Novak's behavior justified?
Was CNN's suspension cool? What's going on here? We'll roll the tape of course
for the umpteenth time!

Please join us and have a great weekend...
