The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
After nearly three months of captivity in Iraq, journalist Jill Carroll was
released today and will soon be home in the U.S. to see her family. Carroll
said after her release that she was "happy to be free." Carroll's kidnapping
was a scary reminder of the continued dangers in Iraq. Is Iraq getting safer
each day or more dangerous? Tonight on Hardball, Chris will ask Sen. Joe Biden
(D-DE), the top Democrat and former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee. Chris also will talk with the senator about the Democrats' unveiling
of a national security plan this week and the ongoing battle to solve illegal
immigration problems in the U.S.
Here's AP's report on Carroll's release: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12077471/.
Also tonight, Hardball Correspondent David Shuster will have more details about
Carroll's release. Newsweek Chief Political Correspondent Howard Fineman will
be here too to talk about the divisive debate over illegal immigration and the
possibility of more White House staff changes. Plus, radio talk show hosts Hugh
Hewitt and Amy Goodman will debate the issues dominating the airwaves and
splitting the parties like national security, congressional corruption, and
much more. And Republican strategist Ed Rollins and Democratic strategist
Hilary Rosen will join Chris to talk about the latest developments for Decision
2006.
