            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

President Bush takes to the airwaves tonight for a primetime Oval Office speech
to pitch his plan for dealing with immigration and border control. The
president speaks live at 8 p.m. Eastern and you can watch it on MSNBC! But
before all eyes turn to the president, you must watch TWO live editions of
Hardball at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern to get ready for what's going down.

Also tonight, Chris will also have the latest on developments in the CIA leak
case. Will a grand jury decide Karl Rove's fate this week? What does Special
Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald find important about Vice President Cheney's
handwritten notes on a copy of Ambassador Joe Wilson's famous op-ed from 2003?
Hardball Correspondent David Shuster will get us up to speed on the latest news
and Newsweek's Michael Isikoff and the New York Times' Eric Lichtblau will be
here to talk about what's going on behind the scenes. Check out Isikoff's
latest web-exclusive report on Fitzgerald's filings:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12774274/site/newsweek/.

On the immigration and border debate, Nicolle Wallace, communications director
for President Bush, will join Chris to talk about the president's speech in
which he is expected to call for National Guard troops to help with the patrol
of the U.S.-Mexican border. MSNBC Chief Washington Correspondent Norah
O'Donnell will preview the speech and you can read NBC's report on the
president's expected plans here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12796688/.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Gov. Janet Napolitano (D-AZ), Rep. Tom Tancredo
(R-CO), and Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-CA) will all be here tonight to tell Chris
what they want to hear -- and what they expect to hear -- from the president.

For more on the CIA leak probe and the battle on Capitol Hill over the
government's surveillance tactics and immigration plans, Ed Rogers, former aide
to the first President Bush, and Terry McAuliffe, former chair of the
Democratic Party, will be here.

Plus, MSNBC's Pat Buchanan, former Nixon/Ford/Reagan/Clinton Adviser David
Gergen, Bloomberg News' Roger Simon, and Newsweek's Howard Fineman, will talk
about immigration, investigations, presidential aspirations, and much more!
