The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
It's a Hardball exclusive tonight as Chris goes inside Opus Dei's U.S.
headquarters in New York City to talk about the worldwide premiere of "The Da
Vinci Code." Why is the Catholic Church telling members not to see the movie?
Is there any fact in the fiction of "The Da Vinci Code?" What really goes on
behind the closed doors of Opus Dei?
Chris will talk with Monsignor Francis Maniscalo, spokesman for the U.S.
Conference of Catholic Bishops, about all of these questions live from inside
Opus Dei. Chris also talks with the vicar of Opus Dei, Father Tom Bohlin, about
the movie's portrayal of his organization. Plus, Peter Guber, president of
Mandalay Pictures, and Peter Bart, editor-in-chief of Variety, will join Chris
live from the Cannes Film Festival in France to talk about the world's reaction
to "The Da Vinci Code." Newsweek Managing Editor Jon Meacham, author of
"American Gospel," and Dr. Pia de Solenni, ethicist and theologian, will also
be with Chris live from Opus Dei's headquarters to talk about the impact of the
film on the Catholic Church and the effects of pop culture on perceptions of
Christianity. Check out Chris' web-exclusive report on all of this right now on
