The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
It's a big Friday on Hardball, not just because it's time again for the
Hardball HotShots, but also because Gen. Richard Myers (Ret.), former chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will talk about the latest in Iraq and Rep. Tom
DeLay (R-TX) will be here on his last day in office.
Chris will talk with DeLay about his thoughts and future plans as he hangs it
up for good in Congress. He's stepping down effective today and he'll talk with
Chris about Decision 2006, Decision 2008, and his own decisions during a
two-decade career on the Hill. Read a transcript of DeLay's farewell speech
Thursday on the House floor:

And here are more reports on DeLay's departure from the Washington Post, New
York Times, and Houston Chronicle:

Plus, what does the news of Zarqawi's death mean for U.S. forces? Is the
country growing less confident in Iraq's future? Hardball Correspondent David
Shuster will have the latest news on Zarqawi's death, including the report that
he didn't die right away in the attacks. Chris will ask Myers about whether
this development could help turn the tide in Iraq.
Here's more on the Zarqawi fallout, including what President Bush said today,

And of course it's Friday night and that always means one thing on Hardball --
the Hardball Hotshots! This week, Chris welcomes Rita Cosby, host of MSNBC's
"Live and Direct," Tucker Carlson, host of MSNBC's "The Situation," and Mike
Barnicle, columnist for the Boston Herald. Who's up this week? Who's down? The
HotShots will break it all down.
Be sure to watch Hardball Monday with legendary actor and director Robert
Redford!
