            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

News of terrorist Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi's death at the hands of U.S. forces
dominated today's agenda at the White House, the Pentagon, and on Capitol Hill.
What are the political ramifications of this? President Bush today said that
Zarqawi's killing could "turn the tide" for dealing with insurgents and outside
terrorists in Iraq. Here's more of what the president had to say:

Tonight on Hardball, Chris will have the latest news and political analysis
with NBC News Chief White House Correspondent David Gregory and NBC News
Correspondent Mike Boettcher, who will report from Baghdad. Ambassador Jim
Jeffrey, senior advisor to Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice on Iraq and the State
Department's coordinator for Iraq policy, also will join Chris to discuss
developments there. NBC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Myers will
report on how Zarqawi and his followers used the Internet as part of their
terrorism. Hardball Correspondent David Shuster will have more on the political
significance of Zarqawi's death and Chris will also talk with New Yorker Editor
David Remnick, author of "Reporting," about conditions in Iraq. In case you
missed it, here's the AP's report on Zarqawi:

Allen (R-VA) this November. Former Navy Secretary Jim Webb and former
telecommunications lobbyist Harris Miller will be here -- just five days before
their showdown in Virginia's Democratic primary election on June 13th. It's
only tonight and it's only on Hardball, where we do politics! Check out these
