            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Today, President Bush continued his review of Iraq options, meeting with
officials at the State Department, followed by a sit down with former generals
and historians at the White House. Tomorrow, the President talks to senior
military commanders and the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, and
meets with Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi. Meanwhile, in Iraq, 22 U.S.
troops have died since the release of the Iraq Study Group report. (Read
Newsweek on how the ISG report changed the President:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16126924/site/newsweek/.) We'll begin tonight with
more on Bush's search for a new Iraq strategy from Hardball Correspondent David
Shuster and NBC's Chief White House correspondent David Gregory.

news.

Then, since former House Majority Leader Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) left the halls
of Congress, his party has been mired in scandals and fallen from the majority
position. We'll talk to "The Hammer" about the current state of the GOP, the
Democratic-run 110th Congress, and his predictions for '08. Plus, what does
DeLay have to say about President Bush and the ISG recommendations? And, what
are his plans for the future? Today, the former leader launched a new
grassroots political network at www.tomdelay.com.
                                                              For more on Bush
and Baker, we'll hear from Time's Mike Allen and Jim Warren of the Chicago
Tribune. Plus, is an Obama announcement on the way? We'll talk to the newsmen
about the Senator's weekend in New Hampshire and the rest of the '08 field.
