The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Tonight, 2008 presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) plays Hardball with
Chris in a television exclusive interview. Biden announced his intention to
run for the White House on Wednesday, but then spent most of the day explaining
what he meant when describing '08 rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) as
"articulate..bright and clean...". We'll ask Biden about his words, and later
in the show, former Democratic presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton will be
here to give us his reaction.
Go to www.politics.msnbc.com for the latest on this and all the day's political
news.
Plus, one of the Bush Administration's fiercest war critics, Rep. John Murtha
(D-PA), returned recently from touring Iraq with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
(D-CA). Yesterday they met with President Bush at the White House. Murtha
will be here to tell us what happened and what's next in the battle between
Congress and the president.
Meanwhile in the Senate, a group of Democrats and Republicans are joining
forces in an attempt to stop the planned Iraq troop increase.
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is a co-sponsor of one of the anti-increase
resolutions and she'll join us tonight.
Then, an update on the Scooter Libby trial from Hardball Correspondent David
Shuster, live at the courthouse. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16921197.
And, the latest in "Picking the Next President" with the Hardballers: Lisa
Caputo, former White House press secretary for then-First Lady Hillary Clinton,
Kate O'Beirne from the National Review, and Washington Post Columnist Eugene
Robinson.
If you missed it yesterday, be sure to check out a special report from
Hardball's Jeremy Bronson on Obama - a FaceBook favorite
