            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
After two days of testimony from NBC's Tim Russert, the prosecution in the
Scooter Libby trial rests. We'll have the latest tonight from Hardball's David
Shuster, who's been following the case everyday from the courthouse, plus
insight from former federal prosecutor David Schertler.

And the Senate debate on Iraq is back on -- maybe. Wednesday night, seven
Republican Senators, including Sen. John Warner (R-VA) and Sen. Chuck Hagel
(R-NE) called the war the "most pressing issue of our time," and wrote in a
letter distributed to Senate leaders, "We will explore all of our options under
the Senate procedures and practices to ensure a full and open debate."

NBC's Mike Viqueira will be here with more from Capitol Hill, and we'll hear
from Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) on what's next in the Senate. Read more from the
Washington Post http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17037294/.
Meanwhile, the House prepares for their own debate. Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)
and Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) will tell us what to expect.

Then, Terry McAuliffe, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) Campaign Chair and author of
"What a Party!," will tell us how the Clinton camp is faring so far in the 2008
party - the AP reports that Sen. Clinton aims to raise $75 million before the
real contest begins http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17043004/.
