            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Tonight, Hardball Plaza is back!

The afternoon downpour here in DC has cooled things off outside, but the Plaza
will be heating back up when we bring out Christopher Hitchens and the Rev. Al
Sharpton for a back and forth on religion, politics and Iraq you won't see
anywhere but here on MSNBC. Get out your wellies, the forecast is calling for
one deluge of a debate!

Plus, the Coulter-Edwards clash continues. This morning, Elizabeth Edwards and
Ann Coulter hit the airwaves in the latest round of their verbal boxing match.
On NBC's Today show, Edwards likened Coulter's comments to "hate language" and
responded to critics who say she and her husband are using the Coulter
confrontation to raise campaign dollars. Take a look at the video here
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/19475706/. Meanwhile, Ann Coulter lashed out at
her critics on MSNBC's Morning Joe. We'll ask Hitchens and Sharpton if they're
on Team Coulter or Team Edwards, plus your Hardball questions submitted to
www.msnbc.com.

Then, the Hardball Panel: the Hill's A.B. Stoddard and Matthew Continetti from
the Weekly Standard join us on the Plaza to talk about all the big news in
politics, including the death of the immigration bill in the Senate, the White
House's constitutional showdown with Congress, and the trouble with Cheney.
Take a look at A.B.'s latest blog on the race for '08 www.pundits.thehill.com/.

In an iVillage exclusive, for the first time ever, the First Lady of the United
States writes an online journal. For her first dispatch on Wednesday, Laura
Bush described the sights and sounds of her trip to Africa. Don't miss today's
installment - you'll only find it on www.ivillage.com.

Tomorrow, Bruce Willis, star of the new movie "Live Free or Die Hard" plays
some Hardball!
