The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Bombs killed dozens and wounded even more in Iraq today. Iraqi Prime Minister
Nouri al-Maliki stepped back from his weekend statement that Iraq's forces
would be ready to take over whenever U.S. troops leave. On NBC's "TODAY,"
al-Maliki said his country's forces will be "ready to take security control"
from coalition forces by the end of 2007. President Bush still has faith in
al-Maliki's leadership and the Iraqi government's ability to run the country,
but how long will it take? Can they do it? Former Reagan Administration Defense
Department official Frank Gaffney and former Clinton Administration security
council advisor P.J. Crowley will dig into that.
Plus, former Gov. Jim Gilmore (R-VA), who pulled out of the 2008 presidential
race over the weekend, and Air America's Mike Papantonio, founder of the brand
new GoLeft.tv, will debate whether the Bush Administration is leveling with us
on Iraq.
And in this campaign of "Obamagirl" and "Rudygirl," don't miss Chris' interview
