            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Tonight on Hardball, the latest on the Minneapolis bridge collapse that left
four dead, more than 75 injured, and as many as 30 people still missing. As
rescue efforts continue, investigators are trying to figure out how the tragedy
happened - and if it will happen again. With aging infrastructure in cities
around the country, are more people in danger?

Former Homeland Security secretary Tom Ridge and Gen. Barry McCaffery (Ret.)
will be here to talk about that, but we'll begin with the latest from Jack Rice
of WCCO news radio in Minneapolis. Then, an eye witness account of the
aftermath from Ryan Murphey, a Minneapolis resident who rushed to the scene
after he heard what happened and helped pull victims to safety.

Plus, what's the political response in Washington and out on the campaign
trail? Late this afternoon, the White House announced that President Bush will
travel to Minneapolis this weekend. Will rebuilding bridges and roads become a
top issue in 2008? We'll talk to Sens. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Chris Dodd
(D-CT), who proposed a bill to repair all country's roads, bridges and transit
systems just hours before the collapse. Then, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who
lives just one mile from the collapsed bridge and drove across it "all the
time," is just back from the collapse site. She'll tell us what she saw and
what needs to happen now.

And tonight's Hardball Panel, April Ryan from American Urban Radio and MSNBC
political analyst Pat Buchanan will be here to talk about President Bush's
response to the bridge collapse, the latest on the children's health bill and
top Bush aide Karl Rove invoking executive privilege today in the fired U.S.
attorney probe.
