The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Turn up the AC, tune your TV to MSNBC, and settle in for a night of Super
Tuesday politics!
Over 10,000 union members are expected to come together tonight when the
Democratic contenders face off at the AFL-CIO Presidential Candidates Forum,
moderated by MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. A new USA Today/Gallup poll shows that
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NC) decisively leads the Democratic pack as the choice
of nearly half of those polled. With campaign dollars and the vital labor vote
at stake, will Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and John Edwards come out swinging?
We'll have all the action live from Chicago's Soldier Field, starting at 7 PM
EDT. And Chris will be back for post-game analysis at 8:30 PM, with Clinton
Campaign Communications Director Howard Wolfson, Edwards Campaign Manager David
Bonior and David Axelrod, Sr. Media Strategist for the Obama Campaign, sitting
down together for the first time in the '08 campaign.
But first, don't miss Hardball 5 PM for a pre-game bonanza. What are labor
union members looking for in the candidates tonight? '08 hopeful Sen. Chris
Dodd (D-CT) will be here to tell us how he plans to handle his time in the hot
seat. We'll also hear from AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Richard Trumka.
Plus, who will win labor's vote and money? Karen Finney from the DNC and
Republican consultant John Feehery will take each other on in the Hardball
Debate.
And in true Super Tuesday style, we've lined up a super-sized Hardball Panel:
MSNBC Political Analyst Pat Buchanan, the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson,
NBC's Andrea Mitchell, and Lynn Sweet from the Chicago Sun-Times will be on
hand to preview tonight's presidential forum and hash out all the day's hot
politics. For the inside dish on what's been happening with the candidates
today in the Windy City, check out Sweet's "The Scoop"
