The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
This weekend, the '08 contenders kept the campaign trail smoking with Democrats
taking the stage on Saturday in Chicago and Republicans going head-to-head in
Iowa on Sunday. The big winners, the hottest headlines, and what exactly is
"cheerful booing?" We'll have it all tonight on Hardball!
Up first, a full wrap-up of 2008 surging full steam ahead from Hardball
correspondent David Shuster. Then, the Hardball Panel: Newsweek's Michael
Isikoff, CQ's Jonathan Allen, and Amanda Carpenter from Townhall.com will be
here to sort through all the latest. Then, don't miss tonight's Hardball
Debate: their recess in peril, Congress passed warrantless wiretapping late
Friday night. The White House praised the action, but did Democrats fold on
privacy rights? Air America's Mark Green and former Cheney aide Ron Christie
lace up the gloves.
Plus, are we in the midst of an August market meltdown? CNBC's Jim Cramer,
host of "Mad Money," will tell us what's going on with the sinking stock market
and what it means for Decision '08 (and your 401k.)
We're also gearing up the for the next big event in '08 politics, tomorrow's
AFL-CIO Democratic Presidential Forum moderated by MSNBC's Keith Olbermann.
Tonight on Hardball, we'll hear from Harold Schaitberger, president of the
International Association of Firefighters and a member of the AFL-CIO's
executive council and political committee. You can catch all the Presidential
Forum action tomorrow night right here on MSNBC at 7 PM EDT, but don't wait
until then to tune in. We'll have all-day Super Tuesday political coverage
starting at 9 AM EDT with NBC's Matt Lauer, Andrea Mitchell, David Gregory,
Chip Reid, MSNBC's Contessa Brewer, Chris Jansing, Tucker Carlson, and of
course, Chris Matthews. Chris and the Hardballers will also be back tomorrow
night for all the post-forum slicing and dicing, starting at 8:30 PM EDT.
