The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Don't miss the live premiere of Hardball's Power Rankings during the 7pm ET
edition of the show. Tonight we'll give you Hardball's take on who holds the
top spot on the Democratic side and why. Be sure to tune in at 7pm every day
this week for the complete Hardball Rankings as we decide who has best chances
of winning the 2008 Presidential election.
First up at 5pm: this weekend Pakistani Pres. Pervez Musharraf imprisoned
thousands of lawyers who took to the streets protesting his decision to impose
emergency rule. Today Pres. Bush urged Musharraf to hold elections and
relinquish his army post. Is the Unites States alienating its strongest
regional ally in the War on Terror? We'll have reaction from '08 candidate Rep.
Duncan Hunter (R-CA).
In less than two months, Iowans will cast the first votes of the 2008
presidential race. Tonight NBC's Tim Russert will give us the leading
indicators on who's running ahead this primary season.
All this week "Green is Universal" on MSNBC. Today hundreds of young adults
organized in Washington, D.C. to raise awareness about global warming. We'll
talk to Energy Action Coalition's Jessy Tolkan, who helped organize today's
rally, and MSNBC's Pat Buchanan about the politics of "going green."
We'll then take a look at these stories and more in our roundtable discussion
with the WashingtonPost.com's Chris Cillizza, the Chicago Tribune's Jill
Zuckman and Jennifer Donahue from the New Hampshire Institute of Politics.
