The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
First up, this afternoon the House of Reps. sent a resolution to impeach Vice
Pres. Dick Cheney to committee. We'll bring you the latest on this story from
MSNBC Congressional correspondent Mike Viqueira.
Then, Fmr. Pres. Bill Clinton came to his wife's defense yesterday, comparing
criticism of Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) during the debate last week to the
swift boat tactics of the 2004 election. We'll bring you the latest reaction
from the campaigns and analysis from the Washington Post's Lois Romano and
MSNBC's Mike Barnicle.
Fellow '08 contender Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM)'s foreign policy views have
been shaped by his time as ambassador to the United Nations and U.S. Secretary
of Energy. Tonight he'll tell you what he thinks of the political crisis in
Pakistan and America's dependence on oil from the region.
Next, Rep. Health Shuler (D-NC) introduced bipartisan legislation today that
would enforce immigration laws in part through employer sanctions. Will the
House leadership sign on to this latest push for immigration reform? Shuler
will tell you what he thinks.
We'll take a look at these stories and more in our roundtable discussion with
the Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart, the Weekly Standard's Matthew
Continetti and the Houston Chronicle's Julie Mason
