The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Leading off: big decisions, big questions and big problems!
Rahm Emanuel, the hard-driving Congressional leader and Democratic strategist,
will be the new White House Chief of Staff, a hugely important position and a
sign that the Obama presidency will be crisp in its purpose, intense in its
execution. His chief campaign strategist David Axelrod who he gave credit to
the night he won, will come to Washington and into the White House as his
Senior Advisor - the same role's he's played on the long road to getting there.
Newsweek's Howard Fineman and Former Mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown will
join us tonight to discuss the transition of power.
And then, picking on Palin! Word from the McCain camp about Sarah Palin have
been nasty and damaging, but perhaps none is so embarrassing as the one
reported by Fox News last night... Sarah Palin didn't know whether Africa was a
continent or a country. Could that possibly be true? Now that the election is
over, what's Sarah Palin future in national politics? Newsweek's Suzanne
Smalley and New York Magazine's John Heilemann will be on hand to discuss all
things Palin.
And today, President Bush invited Obama and his wife Michelle to visit the
White House next week, but it looks like one member of the Bush family isn't
ready to move out.
We'll have that plus the SNL pre-election special skit featuring a familiar
face during the Hardball Sideshow.
Plus, John McCain and Sarah Palin lost on Tuesday, but who are the big losers
this political season? We'll have our loser-list to discuss with Jonathan Allen
of CQPolitics.com and Michael Crowley of The New Republic.
And in the Politics Fix, what will become of Joe Lieberman, who backed McCain
and even spoke at his convention? WashingtonPost.com's Chris Cillizza and
American Urban Radio Networks' April Ryan will discuss.
