The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
President-Elect Barack Obama ran for president promising change, but is he
following through?
As President-Elect Obama assembles his governing team, some of the members of
the incoming administration look very familiar.
Today Obama offered Eric Holder, the deputy attorney general in the Clinton
Administration, the Attorney General post. There's still talk of Hillary
Clinton being asked to be Secretary of State. We already know former Clinton
aide and current Rep. Rahm Emmanuel (D-IL) will be Obama's chief of staff.
MSNBC Political Analyst Pat Buchanan and "American Prospect" editor Robert
Kuttner will weigh in on these latest developments.

Plus, can the American public spare $25 billion?
American auto industry executives have a plan and they brought it to Capitol
Hill today, asking for $25 billion to save the industry from bankruptcy. We'll
talk to Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) and Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA)
about this "Big Three" bailout.

Plus, Obama is selling magazines, newspapers and his interview on "60 Minutes"
delivered the show its highest ratings in almost 10 years. What do celebrities
think about Obama's rise to stardom? We'll ask Emmy and Golden Globe nominated
actor Denis Leary.
And in the Politics Fix, think the culture wars are over? Well, Newt Gingrich
clearly thinks "no". Also, Mike Huckabee takes the first shots of 2012 by
attacking Mitt Romney. WashingtonPost.com's Chris Cillizza and NY1 Senior
Political Reporter Dominic Carter will be here for that and more.
Plus on the Hardball Sideshow, we start to look at the list of people whom
President Bush might pardon before he leaves office.
