            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

First up: will Washington bail out Detroit?

This week the big-bosses of the "Big Three"automakers went to Capitol Hill to
ask Congress for billions in bailout money. Today Congressional Democrats held
a press conference and announced they are putting off a bailout vote until the
automakers come up with a business plan. Will Washington abandon Detroit? We'll
debate that tonight with MSNBC's Pat Buchanan and the The Heritage Foundation's
James Gattuso.

Then, the New York Daily News reports the Obama camp is getting "increasingly
frustrated by a steady stream of leaks that insiders suspect come from
confidants of Hillary Clinton." Sen. Obama is used to running a tight ship. Is
this what President-Elect Obama might deal with if he picks Sen. Clinton to be
his Secretary of State? We'll ask National Journal's Ron Brownstein and
Newsweek's Howard Fineman.

Here's today's New York Daily News story:

Later, Minnesota democracy at work! As the state goes though the Senate race
recount, many ballots are being contested on both sides. We'll show some
contested ballots to the Hardball Strategists, Democrat Steve McMahon and
Republican Todd Harris, and get their take.

Plus, Chris made his return to "The Ellen Degeneres Show." We'll bring you that
in the Hardball Sideshow.

Then in the Politics Fix - as Barack Obama begins to put together his cabinet,
is he forgetting anyone? Some key Latino leaders tell NBC News' "First Read"
they're concerned that Latinos will not fill any major White House or cabinet
positions. Perry Bacon from the Washington Post and Jeanne Cummings from
Politico will be on hand to weigh in.
