Title: ICD9 Update

When you set up a relationship with AMA it is for the use of the CPT codes.  The ICD coding system is distributed by them also but it is not proprietary.  However the CPT codes have to be accompanied by a modest license fee per user.  The VA has a VA wide agreement with AMA for use of CPT.  VistA users outside of VA will have to get their own license from AMA or through a support vendor if there is one.

We will see about that.   As long as it is not proprietary.  I will ask.

Will the update to the ICD9 be available before October at the VA FTP site?
