This is strange but could also be good... the need for capacity building for support of VistA is going to become, if it isn't already, a major stumbling block for rapid and low cost deployment given the demand stimultation that is going on. This should encourage companies to invest in training etc. to meet the demand....the VA would be acting as a catalyst by outsourcing.... so there is another side to this. Of course the danger is that the VA will have its "brains picked" and short sighted commercial interests won't invest in training, just head hunting.

This is really strange if they say there are not enough people and then turn right around and say they are going to outsource support. Of course, they want to outsource support for M,, VistA, Java and Oracle all at once I would guess. Now that really ought to be interesting.
