Creating the template doesn't allow me to create a new Progress Note. It still wants me to put in a Progress Note Title even if I choose to use the template and it won't let me put in a new title - it looks like it is forcing me to choose from an empty list.
I found the TIU implementation guide at ftp://ftp.va.gov/VistA/VistAdocs/Clinical/CPRS-Text_Integration_Utility_(TIU )/TIUIM.PDF. I just briefly looked through it and the guide looks like what I need to set this up. I'll go through it today and report back my progress. I sort of knew what I was getting into when I started on this project. I had met with the IT Director of a VA hospital in Iowa before going down the Vista path and he set my expectations accordingly. Nancy has compiled some install scripts, which I have posted on the site she mentioned earlier, that are very helpful About the progress notes, there is a TIU implementation guide that describes the document heirarchy, and how to set it all up.... but again, it a bit heavy when one is still sorting how all the parts fit together. I think I used the system for almost a month before I figured out about the menu system, and the 9,000+ menu options available to solve many of these problems.
