Since it will likely be quite a wait for VistA-Office, if you are using a
Windows box, I would suggest starting out with the Installation instructions
on the Hardhats web site found by clicking on Projects on the lower left hand
side of the www.hardhats.org web site and installing FOIA VistA on Cache on
Windows.

Once you are OK with that, if you want to try it with GTM on Linux, you can
use that a number of different ways, including using a CD for the OS on a
Windows box with a thumb drive, etc., and that can be found on SourceForge at
the WorldVistA project page. The Client side currently runs on a Windows
machine.

There is a wiki at
http://openforum.worldvista.org/~forum/index.php?title=Main_Page that has
help with installation and configuration as does Kevin's site at
www.geocities.com/kdtop3 . You will find that once you have it installed
that you have just scratching the surface and that trying to figure out how
to configure it is the tough part, but you will certainly be kept busy for a
few hours just getting it installed. That is one of the things VistA-Office
will make much easier.

Once you get it installed, the process of configuration is almost identical on
GTM/Linux and Cache/Windows. When you have a Windows computer and you are
just getting started, having everything running on one computer is usually
helpful especially if you are carting around a single laptop and don't have a
way to connect to a remote server.
