I certainly don't endorse the practice of scattering business rules
throughout the code, but this is the reality of the way VistA is
designed. Any time you do not use the intended interface for a VistA
module, you run the risk of subverting the programmer's intentions, and
potentially compromising the integrity of your system. The Fileman
entry points P^DI and Q^DI, and even the option DIUSER, should be
treated as developer tools, and not a normal way of doing business.
