This is my first post in quite a while.

Creating a job opening that would give a MUMPS programmer a chance to stretch her/his talents into another area has been a long time goal of mine. I think we're finally there, as I've got a new project starting right away.

So, I thought you all might appreciate me posting this job here. Would love to hear from a few MUMPS programmers who have some interest in Java programming.

This is a position for someone who wants to transition into Java and is willing to invest the effort.

================================
Cognition Group Inc. has an open position for an entry level Java software developer. A BSCS or equivalent experience/training is preferred. A strong interest in OMG, HL7, ANSI, and ASTM standards implementation is also required.

The successful candidate will be involved in software design, development, testing, documentation and some user support. Supporting the development of established scientists in the field of informatics, standards development, and biosurveillance will be a component of this position. Experienced programmers wanting to transfer into Java development will also be seriously considered.

Cognition Group, Inc. is an open source development firm. The company's mission is to provide IT research and development services, and related business consulting. We are looking for men and women who have the drive and talent for working in a small startup company as a flexible member of our team.
