The directory has been readable and writable by all and even with using/adding the convention "/tmp/hfs.dat" it still had the same behavior.
This is all doable and it appears that with fixes to _ZISF.m and some options to the open parameters it will work. But still I don't know why it hangs with the system status option. I haven't seen too many reports of anyone else trying this with the FOIA package from 06152006 that Bhaskar created. What is or will be the VistA "family" that I should start with for the GT.M platform? As I recall Kevin started with one of the FOIA releases that Bhaskar kindly packaged.
