Don't trust it. I wouldn't disagree if someone suggested that you should
never trust a Seagate, period. I take it a step further though--I don't run
any magnetic storage (except backup drives) without redundancy.

I have a Seagate 1TB drive. It is actually a replacement drive for the
original one that failed under warranty a  quite a few years back. I got a
windows warning confirmed when I rebooted and had a smart drive warning. I
had never had a Smart Drive warning before. I backed everything up off the
drive and downloaded and am running Seagate Tools. Seagate Tools confirmed
the Smart Drive failure and is running a long test in an attempt to "fix"
the drive. Can it fix the drive reliably or is this drive toast no matter
what Seagate reports. 
Seems to me either way I could never trust this drive again. Maybe it is
time to add another 3TB WD Red to my collection. thanks
