After the upgrade is activated you can create an ISO file for a clean
install without needing to reinstall the previous version (as per MS Windows
10 faq). The upgrade must be done first, but a clean install can be done
right after that.

All you have to do is update your Windows 8 or 7 computer and a white
windows icon will appear in your tray with an invite to upgrade to windows
10. I am guessing you don't automatically or routinely perform a windows
update. No update no invite.

Accept the invite to upgrade and it will happen on the 29th. It is not an
iso file or a clean install, it will update your existing install to Windows
10. You have no choice in this. If you upgrade / install Windows 10 be
aware that you will no longer have any choice about installing updates which
will occur automatically ...
unless you are a enterprise user.
