You can check continuity between the mobo GND pins with a multimeter, likely they are common ground (ie same thing) hence pairing should not matter.

and two grounds.

I assume that 1Power/1D-/1D+ goes on the D2 side and the 2Power/2D-/2D+ goes on the D3 side, but I can't tell if the grounds are associated with a specific cable set. Does it matter which ground I put on which side? If so, how do I figure out which is which?
