There is the manual kind of desolder "bulb", a single 'pop' of suck, then there's de-solder wick (braided wire).
Personally I'd probably:
1. get out the mini-diagonal cutters, snip off old cap,
2. with a chisel tip heat the lead stubs & use some braid to suck them & excess solder out/off
3. use the proper drill bit to "clean" the soldered-over hole leaving it opened & tinned.
My iso tip has a accessory drill snap on with a 1/16"(?) bit for doing this. Practice a bit on a junk board, you'll get it.

Thane, there are hot air soldering <guns> that are recommended for working on a mother board. I think they cost Cdn$50-60 or so. They would probably be much safer to use because of the lower heat.
Ok, thanks. I'll look for those. On the bad caps page, it suggests a vacuum solder sucker, but they appear to start at $1000 (Cdn.) Don't want to spend that much for something and then learn that I'm not capable of doing it. :)
