this is no help but my modem does the same thing, just not predictable. It comes back on it's own or instantly if I reboot the modem which leads me to think my problem is my modem.

I have had a COX cable account for about six years. About three years ago I got my own Linksys modem. I never have a problem, my line almost never goes down, and when it does, it comes up again pretty fast. However, in the last month, my line has been going down on Sunday night anytime between 8PM and midnight, then it may come back on for 20 minutes at times, and then go down again until finally I will shut down for the night.

Monday morning, I will have to power off the LAN, and start everything back up, beginning with the cable modem.  Then during the day ... it will go down again, in which I will probably have to repeat the shutdown start up process again at least once.  Then all of sudden everything is fine again.... until the next Sunday night.

This happened last Sunday and Monday, it happened this Sunday and Monday, and it happened three Sunday Mondays ago. When it went down today I called tech support. I thought this could not be the modem because it is only on Sunday and Monday, it is unlikely the cable because I have a digital cable TV box that works OK. It has to be some kind of IT thing going on... right?

So I called when it went down this afternoon, they confirmed that I wasn't getting a signal, but they said they had nothing scheduled and weren't doing anything. Nor had they been getting complaints. He agreed that it was unlikely my modem and wanted to make an appointment for a service tech come out and check the line. I said I would think about it. Right now I'm really pressed for time and I don't want to spend hours waiting on a cable guy to tell me what I already know.

If it happens again I guess I have no choice but to have the tech come out but I don't see it as a line or modem issue that only happens on Sundays and Mondays?!?  It has to be them working on the system....right? Anybody have any other ideas?

Anybody can say they'll do something, few actualize it.
