I go with this suggestion also, especially if you have mapped network drives. This has caused me a few head scratches in the past. Windows XP Pro SP1 can't see my CD drives in Explorer, My Computer, or any Windows programs. But they show up in Device Manager as normal. I have deleted them & restarted as well as reinstalled the IDE controller. It wasn't showing up in Device Manager until I reinstalled it. After multiple restarts no joy!!
