Here's one for you:
Him: "Hi, I'm installing a new hard drive and Windows on my parent's
computer. It's a Compaq, and the recovery CDs won't install to a 40GB hard
drive. I was wondering if you would loan me your Windows 98 CD so I can
install the XP upgrade."
Me: (knowing the answer before asking): "Is this a computer from us?"
Him: "No."
Me: "Did you get the hard drive here?"
Him: "No."
Me: "Well, we can't legally loan out our CDs. If it was a computer from
us, I'd get you a 98 CD, but since it's from Compaq, you'd really have to
talk to them."
Him: "You can't make an exception?"
Me: "No, I really can't. But you could bring the system in, and I could
install XP for you."
Him: "No, I don't want to do that."
So he left. Are people becoming more insane and demanding, or is it just me?
